Evolving To What?

I love science. Space travel, genetics, biochemistry (emotion: A topic for another day), biotechnology, robotics, A.I and other futuristic sciences like nanotechnology etc. My love for science makes me view the human body in a different light, let me explain. You see, the human body functions just like a machine.

The heart is like the main engine (no wonder terrorists like to eat the heart of their victims to inspire fear in their enemies), the lungs is like a filtration system sorting out the air we breath. The air of course acts like a catalyst, mixing with the red blood cell which runs throughout the body, gets sorted out in the heart and expelled. The act of breathing is astounding! The nose acts like a suction device, sucking in air mixed with all sorts including dirt and microparticles which gets sorted out in the lungs. Even our aura, acts like a buffer and shield. Every part of out body functions mechanically with precision.

The first generation of man most certainly didn’t have a sense of commerce and industry. The priority was simple; food, sex and security. The genetic make up of the first generation didn’t have the latent knowledge stored in the DNA. As humans gained knowledge, so did the information stored in the DNA changes to accommodate the new knowledge. The collective stored knowledge in the DNA is what is manifesting as reality to many. A son having the same smile as the father, or thoughtfulness as the mother are visible signs.

We are now in the Homo sapiens or Homo sapiens sapiens level. In my opinion, there’s already a change, a shift, an evolution taking place and we are at the tipping point when it’s time something drastic happens which alters the human race. The signs are already here, the current level where biotechnology, robotics and genetics are is remarkable. The gene mapping, the Internet are also part of the big puzzle. I believe in my generation, the scientific big bang is going to happen. Some scientists predict a major event called the Singularity (Google it).

When it comes, and it will come, I do hope mankind can be kind enough to treat the universe well, because God knows we are messing up this planet with our waste, our wars and our greed. Anyway, we’ve got bigger things to think about when the time comes like; are we ready to meet other sentient and intelligent life forms from other solar system, galaxy or dimensions? Are we matured enough? United enough?

Will the new evolved humans be monsters to those who refuse to evolve? Will the evolution be voluntary or forced? Will it come to pass as a result of our hands or will it be by divine intervention?

What are we going to evolve to?
